I was invited to a Zen meditation sit on Rutgers University campus back in 2005, and I’ve been exploring mindfulness, healing, and human consciousness ever since. I live in Pacific Northwest, with Jersey roots. I’m passionate about authenticity and living into one’s full purpose in this lifetime, and so my mission is to help people do that within the realms of mindfulness, attachment healing, running sustainable businesses and cultivating holistic wellbeing. My background is fluid, diverse, and I’ve walked many paths these last (almost) 4 decades. From getting a Masters degree in cinema studies, to working for social impact ventures, to serving as a marketing and leadership professional for some of the best in personal development including Brendon Burchard, Jim Kwik and Oprah Winfrey Network, to serving as a Mindful Business Coach today for mindful client-centered service providers and entrepreneurs — I’ve developed a deep skill set to unify business/career sustainability with holistic wellbeing and mindfulness.
I live and breathe digital marketing (the wholesome kind). I love meditation circles and retreats. I savor family and friend time. I can make a killer sales page or email sequence. I absolutely love movies, dancing, and spiritual growth. I do this dance of life with my partner Julio, a masterful therapist and psychedelic educator, and our loud Bengal cat named Papa.
Now you know snippets of almost everything.
My Approach
This approach addresses my mindful business coaching and mindfulness
coaching programs and offerings at a high level.
Whole Life Systems range from personal to professional; mindfulness to business systems.
We are an aligned fit if…
You value a holistic approach to business, and are interested in tuning up your business systems, mindset, and heart.
Running a business (especially as a solopreneur) takes effort, resilience and SYSTEMS to be sustainable (not just energetics). The systems I teach are holistic, addressing your business and workflows, but also addressing mindset and emotions. Focusing on BOTH sides of this equation helps to decrease stall-out, burnout and allows for your impact work to feel aligned, congruent with your values, and joyful.
I offer mindfulness resources and live group practice sessions, to my clients which are designed to support you with emotional regulation, resourcing and resilience development on your path of personal and/or professional development. I’d say this is a CRUCIAL part of the entrepreneurial path.
These resources can include but are not limited to a meditation practice, spiritual tools and more. It’s normal to have imposter syndrome arise or the inner critic, of course! I will support you through the experience you’re having, with compassion, acceptance and unconditional support.
As a business coaching client, you’re a client-centered service provider in personal development, the healing arts or mindfulness industry.
As a business coach, I support client-centered service providers in personal development, including mindfulness coaches/teachers, spiritual teachers/trainers, life coaches, mental health professionals and people who specialize in the healing arts. But more than that, you’re interested in digital learning and digital marketing to support you in helping MORE people around the world. Many people come to me to expand their business beyond a brick-and-mortar. Many also come to me to set up their business to be virtual and/or in-person hybrid from the start.
If you’re interested in mindfulness meditation or coaching, you’re a human who’s interested in a science-inspired, attachment theory-infused approach to mindfulness.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, business owner, parent, full-time employee, or creative, you may love my mindfulness offerings and approach. I integrate Unified Mindfulness at the center of my approach, which is a science-inspired mindfulness system developed by Shinzen Young. It offers a systematic way to apply and practice mindfulness meditation and daily life practices, so that you can elevate your unique goals in life and address your unique challenges in a targeted way. I also integrate attachment theory into my approach to mindfulness, as I find this framework offers vital, effective resources for building inner resilience, courage, confidence and repairing inner wounds that can hold us back in our adult lives. I also bring in parts work, inspired by Internal Family Systems Method. I call on High performance strategies that help you tap into greater productivity, clarity, purpose, energy and connection.
You are ready to practice and implement strategies outside of our 1:1 and group sessions.
The strategies I share work if you use them. For example, the business strategies I share will require consistency and implementation from you, as well as iteration and optimization on an ongoing basis.
When it comes to mindfulness, this practice style requires consistency, formally as well as in daily life, in order to generate momentum for you.
That being said, I know that consistency is hard to to maintain, and that resistance, road blocks and friction may come up along the way. That’s why I’m here. As your coach, I’ve offer supportive containers designed to teach you strategies in support of navigating your growth edge in life and business, tap into accountability, and retain motivation (even when life gets busy or challenging). Your willingness to engage the process is KEY.
As a client-centered service provider, you offer inclusive programs and services and are NOT perpetuating systemic oppression of marginalized communities.
This is a core organizational value here at The Mindful Nest. I have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to homophobia, transphobia, racism and other types of systemic oppression. I will not work with anyone who perpetuates these aspects of oppression with their services.
If you run gendered programs that exclude transgender people from joining, this is an example of transphobic policies. This perpetuates transphobia, violence against trans people, and is not trauma-informed or inclusive.
Example: Men’s programs that exclude trans men. Women’s programs that exclude trans women.
We are a good fit if you’re down with inclusivity, and in facilitating truly trauma-informed spaces that support your clients in participating in inclusive spaces that are safe for all.
I have boundaries and parameters that inform whose businesses I support and what types of initiatives I help scale in impact and revenue. I choose not to support or scale healing arts initiatives that can cause harm, perpetuate systemic oppression or that role model this precedent in our industry. I share this in a way that honors my own values and priorities as an impact maker, and my awareness of the potential impact of my role in supporting my clients’ initiatives.
You care about your impact in the world.
Is your personal development rooted in making a greater impact in the world? What motivates you to grow and evolve?
With your business, are you passionate about your impact, and helping others? Is that your top priority? If so, we’re an aligned fit.
People with a ‘Get Rich Quick’ mentality are not a good fit for my programs. My approach is so much about building a solid ecosystem professionally, to hold sustainable scaling and growth efforts. This takes time, energy, resources, commitment and patience.
I will provide you with strategies that have supported me and my clients in getting results (revenue and impact), and that serve as industry standards. Your growth trajectory is dependent on factors outside of my control. You center your endeavors on the purpose driving you, the mission and message you carry (and not on making quick money).
You recognize that your growth (personally and professional) isn’t about you. It’s about the ripple effect beyond you.
I believe in the potential of our growth to make a significant impact on other people. I believe in refining our impact on the planet and in relationship, and know that mindfulness and personal development are key pillars in that collective process.
That’s why I’m committed to helping people fuse their personal development and collective responsibility on this planet in all my programs, from mindfulness to business: I do this by offering a combination of philosophies and methodologies that support people in unlocking their authenticity, while applying their self-clarity and growth toward supporting others, leading equanimously, healing their relationships, courageously facing their wounds and shadows, and addressing the most pressing issues of our time.
You’re curious.
Curiosity is the name of the game! Being curious, and having an open mind, is important as you embark on the path of growth, and your growth edge in business. This attitude will expand and develop over time, and give you access to unseen wisdom and opportunities. It’s a key pillar of mindfulness and is tremendously supportive as you adopt new ways of living and serving. Curiosity is also the balm to support when aversion or resistance arises along the way. My focus with all my clients is on establishing a mindfulness practice that cultivates this attentional quality (and the attentional skills of concentration, sensory clarity and equanimity), which are tremendously resourceful on the path of exploring new modalities, services, business systems and endeavors.
My stance on diversity, equity and inclusion
At The Mindful Nest, we’re committed to helping client-centered service providers make their greatest impact. Here at The Mindful Nest, we promise to champion diversity, build an inclusive culture, and do our part to create a more equitable world. To that end, we choose to work with people who align with inclusivity, and whose impact is not perpetuating systemic oppression.
We choose not to work with anyone whose impact perpetuates racisim, sexism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia or systemic oppression.
We can’t promise we’ll always get it right, but we’re committed to inclusivity and supporting business owners who stand with inclusivity, too.
Our commitment to equity and inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience is very important to us.
